In response to the challenges posed by the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, especially in remote regions of America, our team took on the task of developing an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) for vaccine delivery. The limitations posed by land transport, including difficulties in reaching destinations and ensuring timely delivery with thermal insulation, underscored the need for an innovative solution.
Our approach began with a comprehensive analysis of the problem, identifying fundamental needs and requirements for the vehicle. Researching existing designs helped us estimate primary design parameters, serving as the groundwork for our conceptualization. From these foundational parameters, we crafted and refined the design, ultimately resulting in the creation of a twin-propeller-engined plane within the small general aviation aircraft category. This endeavor aimed to enhance the efficiency and reach of vaccine distribution, addressing critical gaps in the vaccination process.
